Day 63 - Lazy Day

Seems like at least once a month Captain and I carve out a lazy day and today was for sure one of them.  Kona girl was kind enough to let us sleep in we took her to shore to do her business. The shore closer to Ciara is just enough for her and not really fun. Really rocky, not very far one can traverse.  Although the wild flowers were really pretty.  The haze from the fires remained bad again today and I wonder if some of my fatigue is just the air quality.,

Captain and I enjoyed a nice breakfast and then I do believe we pretty much listened to music, read and napped all day.   It was really nice to have space to lay around the boat and talk about all our dreams and goals.

As we took Kona to shore for her evening walk we noticed another sailboat coming in. We had been the only one in the anchorage last night and now there would be three boats.  We played with Kona on shore for a bit and let her play with some of the kids that had come to watch the sunset with their parents.  We had hoped to give the bar some business but they were closed tonight for a private event.

We stopped on our way back at the sailboat we saw coming in.  We both recognized it as we got closer as the aluminum hulled sailboat from France that we had first seen in Collin’s Inlet and later chatted with in Little Current.  Such a small world.  I love traveling by sailboat. In the end we are all on the same “roads” but the pace is so much slower that we meet everyone along the way and when our wakes cross again you feel just a little less alone on your journey.  They sailed here from France and are doing the Great Lakes this summer and will be heading out via Chicago by later this month.

We had a late dinner of Taco Tuesday and called it a night around 10.  I’m hoping all this napping will help and we can get going on finding good trouble soon. In the meantime, I enjoy the downtime.
