1 paw-Not dog friendly. Posted and enforced no dogs allowed. Do what you need to do and get moving. Much sadness

2 paw-Dog friendly, rough terrain beach. Lots of beach debris and or too popular to comfortably let me play off leash

3 paw-Mixed beaches.  Mostly sand but can be varied in terrain material. Lots of space most of the time for free play.  Overall sandy maybe a few sticks to hunt and gather

4 paw-BBE. Best Beach EVER.  Long walks, all sand, very dog friendly

Extra wag-Perk such as a pier to jump off, local cafes that offer pup cups or dog friendly restaurants.

*As always, please use good dog ownership into mind wherever you go.  Not all beaches and places are official dog areas but how we manage living with a dog on a sailboat in the Great Lakes
