Day 22 - 7/17/24
What a quiet day! We weren’t liking the winds and possible storms so we stayed one more day at Turnbull.
The morning started with shore time for Kona. Richard and I walked to the other side of the island (3 minute walk) and I took advantage of being the only ones here and went skinny dipping for a little bath.
The rest of the day was reading, napping and chatting with the other sailboat that was here. That couple is in their 80’s!!!! They gave some advice and we headed back before the little storm hit us. I may say the winds were bad, and they were, but not for us where we were anchored, so calm inside our little protected harbor. After the storm I played taps and First post as a rainbow came out (sorry for the silly pause on the video as it was raining while I was playing and I couldn’t get my lips dry between calls).
Danica joined us ashore for a little bonfire while Kona played in the sand and water. We plan on moving tomorrow through the Whalesback Channel, it should be beautiful. I’m still nervous but I carry on.
