Day 32 - 7/27/32

So sad to leave the Benjamins today. We got the kids up and showed off their impressive anchor hauling skills. Most people have windlasses to haul their anchors but we just have man power. It’s been nice to not be the soul power and even better to observe the other boats just watch in awe as kids effectively work our boat while they struggle with technology.

Elizabeth Mc Donough and Karl Perron celebrated 11 years of marriage today but I think they fell in love with sailing. Lily hoisted the main and sailed the entire way back to Little Current. Of course we made bacon and pancakes underway. By the time I finished dishes we were almost back to town. We docked the boat like pros and began to organize the boat before we reprovisioned and showed.

Roy Eaton came by and visited with us on board. He brought us some amazing cinnamon rolls from a fundraiser we missed for their local rifle club. We will be seeing him next week as he has graciously let us use his mailing address for a spare part we needed to order for our dinghy motor and we will be making a donation to the club as they do wonderful things for veterans (and make amazing cinnamon rolls).

We got our errands done, took the kids for a much deserved ice cream and then showered. Had anniversary happy hour on Ciara and then we’re treated to Karl’s amazing ribs for dinner. We sabered some champagne and as much as I didn’t want to say goodnight I simply couldn’t keep my eyes open after midnight. We have had the most wonderful visit with them and it went way way to quickly. We for sure will see them soon and spend hopefully many a nights at anchor for years to come. We are so grateful for good people and new lifelong friends.
