Day 12 - 7/7/24
Logs are good because honestly I’m loosing track of what day it is.
After staying up late the night before we slept in til 9am. Took Kona to shore to little island and then over to the main island of Garden where we found the DNR hut which was pretty cool. By the time we got back and made breakfast it was 1pm! Richard took Cory to see the DNR hut and I took a little siesta. Then we loaded the dinghy again and headed over to this natural spring about a mile away. We were super low on battery so we ended up rowing a bit but it was beautiful. Beautiful water, birds and quiet. Last time we were here the horse flys and mosquitoes were horrid and there were snakes everywhere…haven’t seen one yet in three days now. Good ratio, highly recommend. That tour with lack of motor was about three hours and we got back around 7pm. Made some dinner (the freeze dried perogies didn’t quite work, need to experiment there) and decided to stay here another night. Richard and I had a fire again ashore and just marveled at our happiness and the ability we have to reach our dreams.
It’s been a very slow paced sailing trip so far and very different from all years past where we always felt we had to keep moving and fighting weather. Not sure what tomorrow brings, don’t care, it will be lovely.
