Day 8 - 7/3/24
We slept in and then took Kona for her morning walk. I wanted coffee but the cafe had bloody Mary’s so we went for that. They were delicious.
Before the wind picked up we rented a bike for Cory and then toured Beaver Island on our scooters. We found an amazing campground and made our way to Donegal Bay. We made plans to come back tomorrow when the winds died and go back to the boat and make sure we didn’t drag anchor (we didn’t and held steady). We did end up loosing Kona’s food dish in the gusts so I will need to pick up her extra dish next week.
We found a cute turtle on our way home and have seen a few huge frogs and snakes already (shiver, but need to get used to this).
Richard had to row assist to get us back to the boat as the winds were nearing 30 knots. It was funny.
After the last front came through around sunset the winds died. Richard and I went around the point to the north and caught the most amazing star gazing. We are getting lots of sleep and rest so these late nights come easy and are well worth it.
