Splash date, TBD

Yep, sadly, Ciara won’t be getting her belly wet this Wednesday. May 21st is already two weeks later then we have ever put in and for now we hope we can head up on Thursday and be on our adventure without too much delay. Neither Captain and I slept well, as now we are truly at the mercy of the shipyard. So instead of working on all the last minute things today, we have been relaxing. I’m teaching Captain how to be a contributor here and he is setting up the page that gives the specs and history of our John Alden. We are all set otherwise, so once we get her in the water we should be able to set off for where the wind takes us right away. We really hope not to miss the holiday weekend!

I’d love to post photos of my make shift basement pantry, but honestly it looks like an episode of hoarders, so I’ll save you that. I did get to see my good friend Michelle this past week and we hiked a beautiful short county park near Horicon Marsh called Ledge Park. The trail was on top of the Escarpment, the same formation that we sail amongst all summer. We hope to run into her and her family up north where the Escarpment meets an abandoned iron smelting company town, Fayette! You could see the vastness of the Horicon Marsh from the top and take a cute hike down the escarpment amongst the rocks. Happy trails for now folks…soon may we find ourselves aboard….
